BENCHMARK TESTING

What is Benchmark Testing?

Durham Public Schools Benchmark Tests are school district-wide exams given in courses that will have state mandated End of Course exams (EOCs).  Benchmarks are used to diagnose students’ strengths and weaknesses in these courses, to help better prepare them for EOCs.   Previously, only midterm and final Benchmarks were given.  Beginning with the 2008-09 year however,  numerous Benchmarks are given throughout the semester, each encompassing several NC Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS) Objectives.
