Enrollment in Durham Technical Community College Courses

The MCHS student's schedule consists of  both high school courses (taught by certified Durham Public Schools teachers)  and DTCC courses (taught by DTCC faculty).  DTCC has two levels of course offerings:
1) University Transfer Credit Courses,
2)Non-University Transfer Credit Courses.

Durham Tech. courses are credited as follows:

            

University Transfer

Non-university Transfer Credit Courses

Counts toward a high school diploma

May be transferred to a 4-year university

(with a grade of 'C' or above, a course shall be transferable to all universities and colleges in the N.C. system)

Enrollment in University Transfer Credit Courses at DTCC 

For a student to be accepted into a university transfer credit course, s/he must attain a minimum score on either of the following tests:  SAT, ACT, or COMPASS.  The COMPASS is free and administered at DTCC.  If a student does not take the test, or does not receive a qualifying score, s/he may enroll in a non-university transfer credit course only (see DTCC Placement Testing). 

 

All Durham Tech. classes and the use of required
materials are free to MCHS students.
